Position Title: Research Intern

Role Summary: As a Research Intern at Birth Equity 4 All, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our mission of addressing maternal health disparities by conducting research, creating educational materials, and participating in outreach activities. You will work closely with our team to explore the root causes and contributing factors of maternal health disparities, develop educational content, and engage with our community through virtual webinars and workshops.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct Research on Maternal Health Disparities:

    • Utilize academic journals, reports, and other reputable sources to investigate maternal health disparities, focusing on understanding root causes and contributing factors.

    • Analyze data and literature to identify trends, gaps, and areas for further exploration.

    • Present findings to the team in a clear and concise manner.

  2. Collaborate on Educational Materials Development:

    • Work closely with the team to develop educational materials, including fact sheets, articles, and infographics, aimed at raising awareness about maternal health disparities.

    • Ensure that all materials are evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and accessible to diverse audiences.

    • Incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders to refine content.

  3. Assist in Organizing and Participating in Outreach Activities:

    • Support the organization and coordination of virtual webinars or workshops focused on maternal health disparities.

    • Help promote events through social media, email campaigns, and other communication channels.

    • Facilitate discussions, Q&A sessions, or interactive activities during workshops/webinars.

Qualifications:

  • Strong research skills, with experience conducting literature reviews and synthesizing information.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.

  • Familiarity with maternal health issues, health disparities, and social determinants of health preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.

  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in maternal health.

Brelynn hopes to show young girls they are not defined by where they come from and that they can achieve their highest dreams.
