Role Summary: As the Social Media Manager for Birth Equity 4 All, you will be responsible for creating and curating engaging content, managing social media platforms, and fostering meaningful interactions with our online community. Through strategic planning and execution, you will help amplify our message, raise awareness about birth equity issues, and mobilize support for our mission. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage the power of social media for social justice and positive change in maternal health.

Responsibilities:

  1. Content Creation and Curation:

    • Develop creative and compelling content for social media posts, including graphics, videos, articles, and infographics, to promote birth equity and raise awareness about maternal health disparities.

    • Curate relevant content from external sources to share with our audience, ensuring alignment with our mission and values.

  2. Platform Management:

    • Manage and maintain active presence on social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram and the BirthEquity4All website blog.

    • Monitor platform analytics to track engagement, reach, and audience demographics, and adjust content strategy accordingly.

    • Stay informed about emerging trends, features, and best practices in social media marketing and advocacy.

  3. Community Engagement:

    • Foster meaningful interactions with our online community by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

    • Cultivate a positive and inclusive online environment that encourages dialogue, collaboration, and activism.

    • Identify opportunities to collaborate with influencers, partners, and other stakeholders to expand our reach and impact.

  4. Campaign Planning and Execution:

    • Collaborate with the team to develop social media campaigns and initiatives aligned with organizational goals and priorities.

    • Create and implement content calendars, scheduling posts and updates to maintain consistent and engaging communication with our audience.

    • Monitor campaign performance and provide regular updates and insights to inform future strategies.

  5. Brand Management:

    • Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and branding across all social media channels, reflecting the organization's values and identity.

    • Uphold brand guidelines and standards in all content creation and communication efforts.

  6. Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Monitor social media conversations, trends, and news related to birth equity, maternal health, and healthcare disparities.

    • Compile and analyze social media metrics and performance data to assess the effectiveness of our efforts and identify areas for improvement.

    • Prepare regular reports and presentations to share insights and recommendations with the team.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for social justice, equity, and advocacy, particularly in the context of maternal health.

  • Strong writing skills with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling content for social media.

  • Experience managing social media platforms for organizations or brands, including content creation, scheduling, and community management.

  • Knowledge of social media analytics tools and ability to interpret data to inform decision-making.

  • Creativity and ability to think strategically about content development and campaign planning.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage with diverse audiences in a respectful and inclusive manner.

  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software is a plus.

She secured thousands in fundraising dollars for March of Dimes and lobbied on Capitol Hill through her service initiative Birth Equity 4 All. Brelynn hopes to show young girls they are not defined by where they come from and that they can achieve their highest dreams.
